It has been an incredible voyage, sailing in company with a majestic fleet of tall ships as part of the Rendez-vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta. Picton Castle joined the fleet in Bermuda and sailed with the fleet to Boston, then to a number of ports in Canada including Summerside, Sept-Iles, Baie Comeau and Quebec City.
While still a part of the event, we parted ways with the fleet temporarily to do a solo visit to the port of Norris Point on the west coast of the island of Newfoundland. Surrounded by Gros Morne National Park, Norris Point features stunning scenery in Bonne Bay. The hospitality our crew experienced exceeded our expectations of friendly Newfoundland, and we're pretty sure we met all 800 residents of Norris Point at some point during our visit.
While in Norris Point, our crew hiked the Tablelands, kayaked the coast, had a traditional Jig's Dinner, and got screeched in.
After Picton Castle sailed from Norris Point, we saw these stunning photos and just had to share them. Thanks to Old Crow Magazine for the post and to Brittany Slater for the incredible images!
