Day’s Run – August 5, 2015

REMARKS: Home sweet home! By 0900 this morning we were underway for the last time on this voyage. We loosed and set all the sails then got busy sailing right into Lunenburg harbour, accompanied of course by several boats. As the town itself came into view – such a beautiful sight – we stood at the ready for the plethora of orders that were about to come. And come they did, fast and furious, until we were safely alongside Picton Castle’s own wharf. After clearing into Canada with customs we got busy down rigging all of the sails. One by one they came down to be wrapped up and sent to the warehouse for maintenance and/or storage. The funny thing is, even with such a vital piece missing the ship is as beautiful as ever.

SHIP’S WORK: Sent down all sails; sent down fore and main mast running rigging; rigged Monomoy.
