Day’s Run – March 20, 2018

By Cara Lauzon

Yesterday evening the sunset was incredible. I caught this photo of Anne-Laure taking sights with a sextant, she has been navigating the entire trip with celestial navigation. It was a night of stars, later the sky filled with them and we had the constellation book out and were trying to find them in the sky.

We woke to a light warm tropical rain which cleared quickly into a sunny day. We are now officially in the tropics 23°30’N and you can feel it getting warmer by the minute. A lot of rigging going on today, currently bending on the main t’gallant staysail and mizzen topmast staysail, good weather for it. The wind is picking up from the south and we have set some sail which is nice.
