After completing a ten-week voyage on the east coast of the USA, Picton Castle will sail home to Lunenburg on Wednesday August 5, 2015, arriving between 10:00am and 11:00am.
On this voyage, the ship participated in the Tall Ships Challenge, a series of festivals and races organized by Tall Ships America. Ports visited include Cape Charles, VA; Philadelphia, PA; Camden, NJ; Greenport, NY; and Portland, ME. Picton Castle hosted tens of thousands of visitors across her decks in these ports and took home a second place finish in the race from Cape May to Greenport.
Just before embarking on this summer's voyage, Picton Castle completed a two and a half year voyage around the world, her sixth time circling the globe.
The ship will be in port in Lunenburg until October for a period of routine maintenance and repair.
Starting October 1, a new crew will sign aboard for orientation and training before setting sail from Lunenburg on an adventurous voyage that includes two transatlantic crossings.
