Gap Year Gaining Traction in Canada

A gap year is a year away from schooling, usually taken between the end of high school and the start of post-secondary education, although increasingly being taken partway through or after the completion of university.  This is a familiar concept in Europe, particularly in the UK, but seems to be gaining traction in Canada. 

Why take a gap year?  Learn about the world, learn about yourself, gain new perspectives by seeing new things and meeting new people.  Funny, those are the same outcomes one can expect from sailing on the Picton Castle
