While the Bluenose II is undergoing restoration in Lunenburg for the sailing seasons of 2010 and 2011, Sophie Martel, former second mate on Nova Scotia's sailing ambassador, is sailing aboard Picton Castle as a member of the professional crew. Advancing her existing skills and developing new ones, Sophie is putting her time away from Bluenose II to good use. After an interview by telephone from the deck of the Picton Castle in St. Georges, Bermuda, this story was published in today's Halifax Chronicle Herald.
